HOUSING FINANCE AGENCIES

HOUSING FINANCE AGENCIES ARE THE AGENCIES BEHIND MANY OF THE OTHER PUBLIC PROGRAMS YOU SEE MENTIONED HERE. ITS THROUGH THE HOUSING FINANCE agencies that resources are alllocated to the seperate programs such as Section 8, Choice Voucher, HUD-VASH, etc. And by connecting with your local Housing Finance Agency through our direct resource, you are getting straight to the agency and office that makes the decisions on your behalf determining whether you qualify and meet the eligibility standards for the benefits program for which you've applied. Housing finance agencies bridge the gap between the Public Housing Authority, HUD, and the Homebuyer or prospective tenant. By working with all the above mentioned organizations they form a team thats focus is your case, which is securing safe and affordable living for you and your family. HUD facilitiates the programs available and offered by working with legislature and getting funds appropriated to the agencies and their respective programs. Then the publich Housing Authority works with the tenant or homebuyer to discuss potential rental or purchase optons and what requirements will need to be met to be eligible for one of these rental or purchase agreements. Once a program has been determined and the individual has been qualified, the Public Housing Authority will continue to work with the Tenant on finding a property that suits their needs whether for rent or for purchase based on their living needs and program budgeting alotment.

Housing Choice Vouchers - One of the most successful HUD program initiatives since its inception. Take a look deeper at what these agencies do, how they operate, and how as governmnent agencies, they are employed by you, the taxpayer. Put these organziations, agencies, public programs, and federal, state, and local dollars to work for you. We are a community of the worlds Greatest Nations and its our duty to support each other in times of need and in times of outreach. Section 8 rental voucher program assists households as well as individuals in paying rent either over the short term or long term. This program helps to increase the choice of housing options that low income families and individuals can afford. Additionally, the program lets recipients of the vouchers to select private apartments or rental houses. The vouchers are given out to the households that require assistance in paying rent.

Families whose rent obligation is more than 30% of their earnings are considered as cost burdened and they need rental or housing assistance as they may find it difficult to afford basic necessities including food, clothing, transport and healthcare. It is estimated that 12 million households spend at least 50% of their annual earnings on rent and housing. A household with one bread winner working full-time to earn the minimum wage can’t have enough money to pay fair-market rent (FMR) of a 2-bedroom house anywhere in the country.

TANF - Temporary Assistance For Needy Families

SNAP - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

WIC - Women with Infant Childen. The title says it all. This program is specifically designed to ensure that our women and infant children are getting the financial, nutritional, and shelter needs met so that this young family of 2 can surviive through a most difficult time and one day thrive by giving back as they were so generously given to.

CHIP - Childrens Health Insurance Program. Medical costs are always on the rise and an unexpected medical expense can all too often wipe a family out financially. Even if that family has been responsibile with their bills, works well paying jobs, etc. Sometimes its more of a burden then the family and their insurance plan or lack there of, to cover. Thats where CHIP comes in. In ensures that our children are able to get the medical attention they need at all times, for all matters, without question, and without worry from the family about whether or not they can afford to take their sick or suffering child to the hospital or doctor for the care they so desperately need.

The FHA Description of a “First Time” Home-buyer:

It is best to explain the FHA definition of “First Time” to realize that many who have already owned a home will still qualify. A buyer who has not previously owned a home for 3 years before the date of the new purchase is considered “first-time.” A married couple will qualify if either one meets the three-year restriction and divorced single parents will be eligible even though they may have owned with their previous husband or wife.

The FHA Upside of First Time Home Down Payments:

One of the most attractive features of the FHA First Time Home-buyer program is the small down payment. The First Time Buyer program offers a minimum of only 3.5%.(based on a minimum FICO score of 580 and above) In addition to accommodating first time owners with the much more comfortable figure the FHA allows for family members to help and down payment assistance programs are also available from state and local agencies.

FHA - Giving them Credit for Redefining “Worthiness.”:

With credit score requirements being significantly raised and loan standards being much higher for most lending institutions the FHA comes to the rescue. FHA mortgage specialists are excellent sources of help for advice on how to overcome possible credit challenges.
